Mosorjak & Rice to Play in Pony League World Series Championship

WHITTIER, CALIFORNIA – Johnstown's Moxham PNA will play in the championship game of the Pony-13 World Series on Monday night.

Tyler Mosorjak and Aiden Rice, both students at Westmont Hilltop High School play for Moxham PNA, and have been playing for PNA in the Pony League World Series.  Rice, a second baseman and Mosorjak, a pitcher and shortstop are integral parts of the team.

The Johnstown Recreation Pony League team advanced with a 13-3 victory over Nassau, Bahamas, in Sunday’s late game at York Field – and will play the winner of a 7 p.m. EST Monday night game between Perris, California, and Seoul, South Korea.

 

The World Series championship game is set to begin at 10 p.m. EST Monday night.

In Sunday’s five-inning, 10-run mercy-rule win over the Bahamas, Jared Dowey went 3-for-4, scored three runs and drove in another run for Moxham PNA. Josh Little had two hits, including a home run, two runs and two RBIs.

 

Colton Cornell had two hits and two runs, and Ben Tomb had two hits, two RBIs and one run scored. Lucas Nicodemus and Tyler Mosorjak each drove in two runs for manager Jerry Maser’s team.

Little, Tomb and Matt Whysong each hit doubles for PNA, the East Zone representative in the World Series.

On the mound, Mosorjak started for PNA and threw two innings. Zach Myers pitched the final three scoreless innings, striking out five and walking none.
